Now connecting beyond borders has become more seamless and easy. Khalti has now introduced a cross-border payment facility through Khalti QR in collaboration with Fonepay Payment Service Ltd and NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL) of India. 

With this accessibility, Khalti will now accept payments from Indian tourists through PhonePe, BHIM, Google pay and other Indian digital wallets. This enables seamless payment in the Nepali market by allowing users to scan Khalti QR codes using their preferred digital wallets, such as PhonePe and BHIM UPI, Google pay.

This service caters all our Merchants who have been acquired under Fonepay QR, enhancing their revenue streams and contributing to the overall economic growth.  Undeniably, it opens up new avenues for Nepali merchants, particularly small and medium-sized businesses, to tap into the vast tourism market.

Now,through FonePay QR, Nepali Merchants can easily accept payments from Indian tourists through PhonePe, BHIM app, Google Pay and other Indian digital wallets apps.

Terms and Conditions

Before making cross-border payments, Indian Tourists need take note of the following terms and conditions:

  • You need to enable your device’s location.
  • You must be physically present in Nepal.
  • Sufficient funds in NPR must be available in your NPR wallet for the payment.
  • A conversion fee might be levied while converting from INR to NPR and vice versa
  • Works on the Fonepay QR available to Khalti Merchants

 

Note to Nepali Merchants: 

A minimal fee will be levied on the receiving of the payment from Indian Wallet App.
