School Fee Payment FAQ’s

What does it take to register? What documents do I need to have for registration?

The school has to be registered at any official institutions, recognized by the government of Nepal. Required documents are 

  • School Registration Certificate
  • PAN/VAT certificate
  • Latest Tax Clearance
  • Updated Logo
  • Other Documents for School Verification

How can I integrate Khalti?

Sign up for a school merchant account and login to the merchant dashboard. Further, please contact us for the assistance at 9801856422/9801856383/9801052293 or education@khalti.com.

How much amount can I receive?

You can receive almost any amount of fees because we enable you to accept payment from different modes of payment such as Khalti Wallet, Mbanking, Ebanking, SCT Card, etc. through which a parent/student/guardian can pay.

Are there any charges to sign a contract?

For a year, you will get a cost-free service. However, after a year a nominal fee (per transaction) will be applied. For more details, please contact us at 9801856422/9801856383/9801052293/9801856313 or education@khalti.com.

How can I receive fees?

There are two ways to receive fees and either one of them or both ways can be used. First, by listing your schools/colleges at Khalti platform and for this you do not require any technical infrastructure such as Apps, Websites, etc. Just contact us, we will do that for you for free. Second, you can integrate Khalti API on your platform (if you have any) and accept fees.

What are the fees payment options users can get while paying through Khalti?

While paying through Khalti students/parents/guardians have three options:

  1. Directly using Khalti Wallet Account
  2. Internet Banking (From Banks linked with Khalti)
  3. Mobile Banking
  4. SCT Cards

Where do I receive the payments?

You can receive all the payments in the school merchant dashboard provided by Khalti. And, instantly you can transfer collected fees to your bank account.

How much charge do I take to transfer fees to my bank account?

Khalti won’t charge a single penny to transfer funds to your bank account.

How can I get the amount collected in my merchant dashboard? Can I withdraw?

Yes, you can withdraw the amount in the merchant dashboard anytime. Goto Withdraw section and enter bank account details to send money to the bank instantly. You can also send the amount to Khalti Wallet.

How do I check transaction logs? Can I refund or reconcile?

You can check the transaction logs of the payment of the fee from the dashboard by going to the ‘Transaction’ section. You can check the logs and do all kinds of refunds & reconciliation from the dashboard.

I need to provide access to other members from my office. How do I do that?

You can give access to other staff members by going to the ‘Staff’ section in the dashboard. Next, go to ‘Add Staff’ and add other members.

How do I recover my password?

Click on the ‘Login’ button from the top right corner. A window will pop up and see all the way down where you will see ‘Forget password?’. Now click on it and enter your registered email address. A recovery code will be sent to the same email address. Enter the code to the earlier window.

Can I receive other than tuition/monthly fees?

Yes. Any kind of payments you can receive via Khalti.

Can I use the funds collected in the School Merchant Dashboard for other Khalti’s services like electricity bill, internet bill, etc.?

No, you can not do that. You can transfer those amounts to your authorized bank account only.

How do I get API documentation?

Khalti School Fee Payment API is open. For this visit https://docs.khalti.com/

Where do I get a test and live keys?

You can get a test and live keys in the ‘Keys’ section in your school merchant account dashboard. While integrating use test keys and once the integration is successful replace the test keys with live keys to start accepting fees with Khalti.

Can I accept payments without signing contact using test keys?

Yes, you can use test keys to accept payments up to Rs 999. To receive more than Rs 999, you will have to contact 9801856383 or email at education@khalti.com

Do I need a demo account? How do I get a demo account?

You do not need to have a separate demo account for integration. You can simply integrate using our test keys from the dashboard once you have signed up as a school merchant.

How Do I exchange API to Khalti for automation? Is fee automation possible?
