I want to load money in my Khalti account?

Firstly log into your account. Now, to add money to your account

- Click on “Load Funds” on the top menu bar of the home screen

- Select the option using which you want to load funds i.e Linked Bank Account, eBanking, mobile banking, connectIPS, Request friend, SCT Cards, International / VISA / Amex Cards, Cash deposit vouchers

- Select the bank

- Enter the required amount to be loaded in your account.

- Complete the transaction process using your login credentials for ebanking, mobile banking etc.

The amount will be reflected in your account after the transaction is complete

Why can’t I load money into my account through my bank account?

The possible reasons for this should be:

- Your bank account did not have adequate balance.

- Your internet connectivity was interrupted.

- The issuer bank’s network was down.

- Your monthly loading limit was breached. 

- Ebanking/Mbanking/Card not activated.

How do I load money to Khalti?

To load money goto load money option in the app/ web 

Enter the amount and select Ebanking mode and complete the transaction

Why can’t I load money into my account through my bank account?

The possible reasons for this should be:

Your bank account did not have an adequate balance.

Your internet connectivity was interrupted.

The issuer bank’s network was down.

Your monthly loading limit was breached. 

Ebanking not activated.

Does the money get loaded immediately to the wallet?

In case of e Banking the amount gets loaded immediately. In some cases it might get delayed due to internet connectivity, due to the bank's network. Do not panic. Your money will be safe and will be loaded to your wallet within an hour. If your wallet balance is not updated after 30 minutes do contact us at support@khalti.com or call at 9801165561

Money deducted from bank account but did not reflect in Khalti account

In such cases please do not panic. Please check your internet connectivity and refresh you balance. If it does not show then this might be because of the network problem while transaction or maybe because of the delay from the bank’s server. In such cases, please wait for 30 minutes. If your wallet balance is not updated after 30 minutes do contact us at support@khalti.com or call at 9801165561

 

Bank Transfer fees and other limits

There are no bank transfer fees while loading funds from eBanking. As per NRB there are certain bank transfer limits applicable on Khalti. You can add upto Rs 5000 at a time, Rs 15,000 in a day and Rs 25,000 in a calendar month. However, as per your urgency you can load as much as you want but you cannot hold the amount in your wallet account. You need to spend it on the same day. If you fail to use that amount then your account might get locked.

 

However, it is mandatory for all users to fill up KYC (Know Your Customer) form to carry out transactions above Rs.5,000

I don’t know my username and password for eBanking. What do I do?

eBanking username and password is the one that you receive while taking eBanking service from the bank. If you have done so and cannot remember or have lost the login credentials, please contact the associated bank where you have created your bank account. 

After logging in to my eBanking account why can’t I find/ select my account?

In such cases please contact the associated bank.

What if I top up a wrong Khalti account by mistake?

Please check the number before loading. Once you have loaded, Khalti will not be held responsible for the refund. You will have to contact the person yourself and get it refunded.

What if I have loaded money in a Khalti account that does not exist?

In such cases Khalti will not be able to refund the money. You will have to create a Khalti account with the same number in which you loaded money. Once you have done so your money will be reflected in the new Khalti account and you can then transfer the fund to your own Khalti account.

‘Failed at Bank’ What does this mean?

This could be possibly due to issues at the bank's server. In such cases it is advisable to contact the associated bank

What is OTP while loading funds? How can I generate OTP? Why didn't I receive OTP?

OTP (One Time Password) is a secure code to ensure that there are no fraudulent transactions. While transacting the bank sends an OTP to your personal email/ mobile number. (Remember if you have not taken or activated the messaging/ email service from the bank you will not be getting any OTP) 

I loaded some amount at a time. I need to reload more funds. Will I be charged?

No, there are no hidden charges while loaded funds via eBanking. You can load as many times as you want. 

How do I load money to Khalti?

In such cases make sure your app is updated. Once you have updated the app and go to wallet top-up option and select Khalti

While loading funds from Bank App to Khalti I see a blank page with the text ‘2018’

This is an issue from the bank's end. Please contact the bank in such cases

How do I load via cards?

To load via cards simply tap on load funds and go to Debit/ Credit Cards option. Now enter your card details like your card number, issued date and expiry date and your CVV number. Once you have entered the details you will receive an OTP for confirmation. Once you have confirmed your Khalti account will be loaded instantly.

Will be charged while loading Khalti via Cards?

You will not be charged any amount while loading for the first three transactions. After that, for SCT cards, a service charge of 2% (maximum amount of Rs 25) will be levied after the first 3 transactions. And for all other cards, a service charge of 2% will be levied after the first 3 transactions

I tried loading Khalti via Card but it did not work. Why?

This could be possibly because you are trying to load via SCT cards which are not activated for online transactions. Please make sure your card has been enabled for online payments by the bank.

It could also be due to:

Your bank account did not have an adequate balance.

Your internet connectivity was interrupted.

The issuer bank’s network was down.

Your monthly loading limit was breached. 

Card not activated.

How much amount can I load to Khalti at once while loading via cards?

You can load a maximum amount of upto Rs 16,000 at once.

How to load via cash deposit?

To load your fund via cash deposit, follow these steps:

  • Ask for the Khalti cash deposit voucher from your nearest branch of Khalti’s cash deposit member bank
  • Fill up the voucher with the phone number and name registered with Khalti
  • While submitting the voucher, tell the bank teller to enter the Upay ID 13-002 in their systems as mentioned in the voucher 

What information do I need to fill the cash deposit voucher?

You need to have the following information to fill the cash deposit voucher:

  • Khalti ID ( Phone number registered with Khalti )
  • Customer’s name ( Your name registered with Khalti )
  • Write your amount that you want to deposit in your wallet

Can I give my other phone number which is not registered in Khalti while filling a cash deposit voucher?

No. Other phone numbers will not be accepted which are not registered with Khalti

How do I check if my cash has been deposited?

Go to your account and check the amount in the left side menu. Refresh if the amount you loaded is not reflected in your account.

Can I load funds in my wallet through other banks?

No. You can ONLY load your fund from the cash deposit member banks of Khalti. You can check the list from here: https://khalti.com/load-fund/

Can I load funds in my wallet anytime?

Yes. You can load your fund anytime anywhere in Khalti.

Do I need to have a bank account to load funds in my wallet?

No. You don’t need a bank account to load funds in your wallet. You can do it via cash deposit voucher or Khalti Sewa Kendra. You can even request funds from your friends and family.

Where is the bank link feature available on the phone?

It is available in the ‘More’ section of the application

Do I need to be KYC verified to link my bank account?

Yes, you need to be KYC verified to link your bank account

What details do I need to put to link my bank account?

You will have to select the bank you want to link and Input your account number, Account Name, and Mobile Number.

What are the benefits of linking my bank account to Khalti?

There are several benefits of linking your bank account. The hassle of loading your wallet through different online/offline mediums every time you make a payment is gone. This saves your time and makes transactions quicker.

What payments can I make through this feature?

You can make Utility payments like Internet bills, Mobile top-up, Recharge cards, Insurance, TV, and so on.

Can I send money through Khalti by using this feature?

Yes, one can send money through a linked account by using the send and request feature.

Can I make bank transfers using the bank link feature?

Yes, one can send money to his/her own bank account or someone else’s account using the linked bank account.

Can I load funds to the Khalti wallet from my linked bank account? How can I do it?

Yes, you can load your wallet through the linked bank account. You can do it by going to the load fund section where you will find the linked account option. By choosing your bank account and entering the amount you need to load, the wallet can be loaded.

Can I link multiple banks to Khalti?

Yes, multiple banks can be linked using this feature

Can I remove a linked account to Khalti?

Yes, the linked bank can also be removed

Why can’t I link my account despite entering all the details like Name, account number and phone number?

Please make sure the Name and phone number entered matches with Bank’s details. If your bank account is registered under a different Name or phone number, you will not be able to link the following account.

What to do in case my Mobile number/Name in Khalti does not match with that of my bank account?

In order to update your Khalti number/Name with that of the bank, send your request at support@khalti.com.
