Job Summary:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the engineering team at K5 Innovations. The role involves overseeing the entire development lifecycle, ensuring technical excellence, and driving innovation within the organization. The manager will be responsible for delivering high-quality software products while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Technical Leadership (30%):

    • Shape K5 Innovations’ engineering organization through architectural decisions, quality control measures, tech debt management, code reviews, etc.
    • Collaborate with other engineering leaders to drive technical excellence.
    • Delegate and communicate Software Engineering standards while empowering the tech leads and subordinates in each functional unit within the technology department
    • Facilitate in several decision making in the engineering choices. 
    • Participate in architectural and engineering discussions with the Tech lead while delivering following values – Feasible, Valuable, Usable
    • Collaborate with Product, Design, QA and DevOps units for efficient and quality development

 

  • People Leadership (40%):

    • Recruit, hire, and develop a talented engineering team.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers at all levels.
    • Conduct 1:1 meetings and career progression discussions.

 

  • Project Management (20%):

    • Facilitate backlog grooming and retrospectives.
    • Prioritize and manage engineering projects effectively.
    • Plan and manage project milestones.

 

  • Individual Contributions (10%):

    • Actively participate in critical aspects of software engineering, testing, and deployment activities.
    • Demonstrate as a role model in engineering while contributing to the codebase with high-quality standards
    • Resolve the blockers in the engineering delivery, wherever possible.
    • Handle in the production operations while carefully handling the post-release mis-haps

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering management.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of software engineering principles, SDLC methodologies, and design patterns.
  • Experience applying design patterns to solve real-world software problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes through effective process management, operations, and communication.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Knowledge of data-driven product development.
