Khalti Bank Direct is a hassle-free feature that allows you to transfer funds directly to any bank account, avail all Khalti in-app services, and send/request money to your family and friends securely on Khalti from the linked bank account.
This means you don’t have to load money separately in the Khalti wallet to perform the above-mentioned activities. All you have to do is link your bank a/c number to Khalti and you are all set to pay and transfer funds directly from your bank balance.
Furthermore, with Khalti bank direct you can also load money in your Khalti wallet directly from the linked bank account without the hassle of entering any details except the amount you need.
What are the benefits of the Khalti bank direct?
Getting your bank linked in the Khalti wallet helps you manage and make the best out of your bank account in one platform i.e. Khalti. How? Here are some of the benefits you will have once you link your bank account in Khalti.
Utility Bill payments
Now link your bank account easily and pay your utility bills instantly. You can top up your mobile, pay your landline bills, DTH bills, internet bills simply by linking your bank account. Just select the linked account in the payment options while paying the bills. Now, Paying your utility bills is now more convenient.
Khalti bazaar online shopping
Once you link your bank account in Khalti, you will be also able to directly pay by choosing the linked account in the payment option and shop services and goods in Khalti bazaar.
Bank transfer
With the Khalti Bank Direct, users can now experience seamless and instant transfers from your bank account to any bank account without adding money to the Khalti wallet.
Khalti send/request funds
Khalti send/ request feature allows you to transfer or request funds from one Khalti wallet to another. Now you don’t have to worry if you don’t have funds in your Khalti. You can directly transfer funds to another Khalti wallet selecting “Linked account” in the transfer option.
Load funds
Additionally, you can also load funds in the Khalti wallet using the bank direct feature, which is completely hassle-free as once you have linked the bank account you are not asked to enter any other details except the amount you want to load.
How to link a bank account?
Before beginning with the steps remember that the Name and Mobile Number in the bank and Khalti account should be the same.
After that follow these simple steps to access the service “Khalti Bank direct”:
Step 1: Signup and Login to Khalti from Khalti App or Web Dashboard using Khalti.com
Step 2: On the home page, go to more and tap on “ Link Bank Account”.
Step 3: Tap On “link bank account” and select the bank
Step 4: After selecting the bank, enter your bank account number, name and mobile number is fetched automatically from Khalti KYC.
Step 5: Once you enter all the details tap on the submit button.
Step 6: Now you will receive an OTP (one-time-password) on your registered mobile number.
Step 7: Enter the received OTP code
Step 8: Your bank will be linked to your Khalti wallet successfully.
How to load funds in your Khalti wallet using the Khalti bank direct?
Step 1: Signup and Login to Khalti from Khalti App or Web Dashboard using Khalti.com
Step 3: Enter the amount you want to load and fill the remarks section as well
Step 4: Now, Your fund will be loaded instantly in your Khalti wallet

Few things important to note while trying to link your bank account:
- Mandatory KYC verified accounts
- The user’s registered mobile number in Khalti and Bank should be the same.
- Users should register and activate the mobile banking service of the bank. ( applicable for only Nic Asia users for now)
- With the bank direct feature payment for third party merchants of Khalti is not available.
