Access to Finance in Nepal is on the Rise. An increasing number of banking and financial institutions has resulted in greater access to finance. As of mid-April 2019, 174 licensed institutions have 8,205 branches, providing services to a 3,559 population per branch on average. Whereas, as of mid-April 2018, 151 licensed institutions were providing services through 5,948 branches to 4,845 population per branch on an average.

The government announced to have a commercial bank’s branch in each of the 753 local levels in the budget speech of FY 2017/18. To our delight, at least a commercial bank’s branch has already been established at 724 local levels.
