Nepali Digital Wallet Khalti Wins Google Business Group Stories Contest 2017

Khalti, one-stop online payment gateway in Nepal, has recently won “Google Business Group’s (GBG)” 2017 ‘Story Search’ contest. Also, Khalti has also been declared the People’s Choice Winner. Khalti will now get an opportunity to be directly mentored by Google Payments & other teams and services.

Along with Khalti, there is three other startup i.e. Cafe Yagam from the Philippines, Riliv from Indonesia and Virtualahan from Philippines that was announced winner GBG competition for the year 2017.

Along with Khalti, Eco-Cell Industries, and Khaalisisi from Nepal had made it to the top 9 of the global competition organized by Google Business Group. This shows that Nepali Startup company are growing day by day with great ease.

Khalti, Nepal’s digital wallet feature Mobiles recharge, pay bills, book tickets etc. from any part of Nepal. Sparrow Pay Pvt. Ltd., launched the app in CAN InfoTech, 2017 conducted in January. In such a short time, Khalti has achieved a great high and we expect still more from Khalti.

Amit Agrawal, CEO at Janaki Technology Pvt. Ltd (Sparrow SMS, Picovico, Khalti ) said, “We are thankful to all our well-wishers and people who have always kept faith in us and supported us. This inspired us to do even better in days to come. This is just a small step towards a cashless and Digital Nepal. Thank you, everyone!”

Khalti is secure and user-friendly apps, which I personally like. After creating a Khalti account, a user can easily use Khalti apps but not more than Rs. 5,000 transaction in a month. For transactions more than Rs. 5,000, user need to fill the KYC (Know Your Customer) form. This is the point where the number of users gets confused and stoked. In KYC from user need to provide the citizenship card detail along with its photos and user photo. This is the reason why Khalti is more secure online payment gateway.

Khalti is associated with Nepal Investment Bank Limited, Machhapuchchhre Bank, Mega Bank, Everest Bank, NIC Asia Bank, and NMB Bank and has services to most ISP in Nepal. Khalti along with e-Sewa, IME Pay, and iPay are some of the other online payment gateways in Nepal.

Haven’t downloaded Khalti mobile app yet? Download it today.

So, if you have a startup idea don’t step back with the thought of failing. Step forward work hard and someday that hard work will definitely pay you off.
