Mero Surakshya offers services to both old and new mobile phone sets. Almost of the mobile shops in Kathmandu are cognizant of this new service

Mobile set lost? Broken or becomes dysfunctional? No need to worry too much. A company can come to your rescue, which will buy a new mobile phone for you if you lost it and will repair if your mobile set breaks. The company, Mero Surakshya, has started its service in Nepal.

Not only this, there is also another good news regarding Mero Surakshya. Valuable data and files in your mobile set would be saved even in case the set breaks or is lost. You can get it all back. The Company can keep all your data safe.

However, you have to be registered in the company after paying five per cent amount of the total cost of the mobile phone to the Company every year to get the service.

In the beginning, Mero Surakshya has a plan to buy a new mobile set for the customer bearing 50 per cent of total cost of the lost mobile set. The Company is planning to bear 70 per cent of the cost of new mobile set bought by the customer after few months.

The Company has already signed agreement with concerned mobile companies for the repair of the broken mobile sets and to buy new one.

The software company has started its service in Kathmandu from last week.

Some 8,000 people have downloaded ‘Mero Surakshya’ app within a week.

How to avail Mero Surakshya services?

One can download ‘Mero Surakshya’ app from play store of Google for Android mobile and from ‘App Store’ for I-phone users. Similarly, one can be member of the Company after paying five per cent amount of the total cost of his/her mobile set through online.

The customer, through the apps, has to inform the Company about the data of the mobile set he/she wants to keep safe and the Company will keep such data and files safe.

Currently, there are over 30.41 million mobile sets in use in Nepal, according to Mero Surakshya. Around 6 million of mobile set enter Nepal annually through customs officially.

Equal number of mobile phone sets are estimated to enter the country without paying the taxes.

We aim to render services to only 2 million mobile sets for this year. Around 3,000 mobile sets have been registered with us-mostly online- in first few weeks of the service launch.

The company has its main office in Putalisadak but anyone can avail the service online through merosurakshya.com or via its  mobile app.

In a query about the breaching of privacy while storing the data of others mobile phone, Director of Mero Surakshya, Bishwas Adhikari replied,”We don’t store chats of customers. We store the datas as per the preference of the customers.

Sharing about the inception of rendering such service, Adhikari said their Company came into existence after having seen people wallowing in sorrow in loss or damage of their mobile phone sets containing valuable datas.

Mahesh Acharya, who had reached the office of Mobile Surakhsya to avail services from the Mobile Surakshya, shared,

I lost an expensive mobile phone and suffered the damage of another phone subsequently. Hundreds of the mobile phone numbers were lost but now I could retrieve all the lost data through this new service.

Mero Surakshya, which is availing service to the mobile phone sets only as of now, is eyeing to extend their services to laptop, tab and computer among others next year, said CEO Sunuwar, adding that it could be extended to all electronics device.
